Sen. Hillary Rodham-Clinton (D-NY)
Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI)
Sen. John Kerry (D-MA)
Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM)
Gov. Marc Warner (D-VA)
Sen. and Gov. Elect Jon Corzine (D-NJ)
Sen. George Allen (R-VA)
Gov. Haley Barbour (R-MS)
Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS)
Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL)
Sen. Bill Frist (R-TN)
Fmr. Rep. Newt Gingrich (R-GA)
Fmr. NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-NY)
Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE)
Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR)
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)
Gov. George Pataki (R-NY)
Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN)
Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA)
Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA)
Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC)

If I've missed anybody, let me know. I hope now that there is a list, I can avoid creating a new post to introduce each candidate (as I planned to do). Now we can get down to substative information.

Good list. Some people think Gore might still go in. How long will he wait? Look forward to your rankings.

Here are some notes from my conversation with an insider from the Democratic Party:

Bayh -- Could be the man. Apparently used to be governor and well respected.

Also likes Richardson. As head of the Governor's organization (?), he is moderate and strongly liked by members of both parties.

McCain -- Will never make it through the primary. Not conservative enough.

Allen -- He's the man for the Republicans apparently.

Corzine -- Not polished enough.

Bush (my own commentary) -- not another one!

I realize this is irrelevant right now but watch out for Obama in 2012. He is hands down the most impressive speaker I have EVER heard and I only heard him speak casually at a town hall meeting in Illinois. A-mazing!

I asked my source about him possibly being a VP candidate. He said not yet.

Regarding Barack, the TNR hype machine has struck again (a couple weeks ago it was for Feingold).
